They would be better off by sterilising them. It’s sickening that so many of these beautiful animals are killed each year and for what? because we (Humans) are taking away all their land. We are no better than any where else in the world. You just can’t keep taking and taking away land. Before long there will be no animals left in the world. Stop humans from breeding and we may be able to save their habitats for future generations. It’s heartbreaking to me.

I believe that there have been trials of kangaroo contraception but it has been unsuccessful. As for sterilization – how do YOU propose it is undertaken in a safe, humane way?

So shoot them to tranc them, perform surgery on them and then release them. Far cheaper and more humane just to shoot them dead.

The facts are, that the Kangaroo Management Plan is not based on any scientific evidence, and is only based on fiction made up by the government to try and justify their unnecessary inhumane killing. After killing all the kangaroos on the nature reserves last year, the government introduced cattle into the reserves because the grass was too long.
The grass is still too long, no native species or the land are destroyed by the kangaroos, they are soft footed, they are not overabundant the government never make an accurate count by doing an individual head count, they always over exaggerate the population. Killing is never humane, the moving targets are shot agonisingly in the jaw and other parts of the body and left to die an agonising death. We found evidence of this at Callum brae last year after the cull.Copy and paste this link into your browser: https://wildlifecarersgroup.wordpress.com/2011/07/20/wildlife-carers-group-wcg-visit-to-callum-brae-nature-reserve-etc-full-5-day-work-experience-student-placement-report-trained-by-wcg-founding-president-nora-preston-4-8-july-2011/
