STOP THE VIOLENT KANGAROO KILLING AND LIES
FURTHER UPDATES BELOW: My apologies for WordPress who have compressed most of these reports by removing paragraphs, spaces etc and unfortunately have reformatted my original properly formatted reports.  I have attempted to tidy up this report by adding more photos and our banner. I have updated the kangaroo numbers and charges against the government to include 2015 unlawful violent kill since writing these reports including adding more photos.   Unfortunately the unlawful violent slaughter did go ahead in 2015 commencing 30 April 2015-7 July 2015 – 1700+701 Joeys=2401 violently killed by the ACT Government annual kill, that does not include the other 93 permits handed out all year round or the infertility program that is preventing breeding, weakening the kangaroo species, driving them to extinction.
2015 ACT Government violent killing. Vet report says this Kangaroo was hit by a vehicle and then stabbed to death. Only the Government had access to drive around inside this complex.

2015 ACT Government violent killing. Vet report says this Kangaroo was hit by a vehicle and then stabbed to death. Only the Government had access to drive around inside this complex as this poor Kangaroo desperately tries to escape the shooters by trying to crawl under the fence after they hit this protected native Eastern Grey Kangaroo.

In 2015 the ACT Government authorised the slaughter of at least 25772 Kangaroos across the Territory. Most of these were to be killed on farms because farmers incorrectly believe that native Kangaroos compete for pasture with introduced livestock. But 5000 of the 25772 were to be killed by the government’s own hired guns on public reserves. Kangaroos maintain a healthy well balanced eco system.

In 2014 the ACAT Legal action against the government exposed that the government’s own ecologist admitted that the government’s assertions about kangaroos being a threat to vulnerable species were just “PR”, and that its claim that killing kangaroos will benefit biodiversity generally is based on a simplistic assumption that more biomass (vegetation) is better for biodiversity than the diversity of vegetation achieved by kangaroo grazing.  The TAMS Senior Ecologist had already researched the fact that the vegetation in the fenced off areas where the Kangaroos were kept out of had died because the vegetation actually needs the Kangaroos general grazing in order to survive and thrive.  The vegetation in the fenced off areas where the soft footed Kangaroos were allowed to continue their gentle grazing survived and thrived.

Please help by signing the 3 save the Kangaroos petitions. Please sign as individuals and SHARE through facebook, twitter, your friends, your family, your colleagues, your websites. Thank you for all of your help.
I have over 8000 signatures, adding up all the signatures on all 3 petitions that is more than enough signatures for this government to grant all of my requests.  This ACT Government have absolutely no respect for what the majority of the community want with the ACT Government continuing to abuse taxpayers money to commit their unlawful violence, lies etc.  The taxpayers have not given the ACT Government permission to use their money to kill the Kangaroos.   Only a small minority of 39% supported the government, government dept TAMS and the rspca in the kangaroo killing, while the majority of 56% OPPOSED the government, government dept and the rspca in their unlawful violent kangaroo killing, while 5% were unsure, please click on this link: https://wildlifecarersgroup.wordpress.com/2012/09/01/canberra-times-final-kangaroo-killing-poll-results-closed-25512/.

The killing is unlawful. Kangaroos are protected native wildlife that the Acts do not allow to be harassed, harmed, herded, killed, tortured to death.

Joey tortured to death by ACT Govt annual kill. Stabbed, still alive and suffering from  stab wounds this Joey was buried alive by the ACT Government, this Joey died of asphyxiation verified by a Vet report on vet autopsy.
Older kangaroos are shot, stabbed, and while still alive and suffering from bullet wounds and knife wounds are then buried alive.
RSPCA Vet report on 2 of the stolen Sulphur-crested Cockatoos from my property on 10/8/12 stating that the RSPCA committed acts of animal cruelty to them while stealing them from my property on 10/8/12 during their unlawful trespassing/entry, damages. The amount of blood I had to clean up after the RSPCA shows that the RSPCA Vet report is covering up the extent of the injuries that the RSPCA caused to the birds.

Wildlife Carers Group Map of Memorial Kangaroo Park and Wildlife Sanctuary

The unlawful entry and stealing of my wildlife from my property by tams, the rspca and the police occurred as a result of me taking the Conservator of Flora and Fauna to court for the unlawful violent killing of the kangaroos/animal cruelty in 2012, to stop the unlawful violent killing and to have the Acts and policies that govern these policies changed. This action against me was more abuse of taxpayers money and vexatious by the government.
TAMS, Marg Peachey, who has now started up her own wildlife group as President that would be affiliated with TAMS, is a TAMS Government wildlife group, and is affiliated with the RSPCA with the same RSPCA mobile number, and the RSPCA are not fit to work with or take and have/keep any animals, and are not fit to be writing up Acts and Policies on them either. Marg Peachey now employed by TAMS, formerly RSPCA Wildlife Manager mistreats animals throwing them around as though they were objects, and is more interested in removing native wildlife from the Wildlife Rehabilitation Licence that she hates, who also misguides with her training who also teaches mishandling of animals.  This corrupt government, government departments and the RSPCA abused more taxpayers money, by raiding me, defamed me with vicious lies to get me out of the way while I fought back for vindication and for the protection and safety of our wildlife, so that Marg Peachey could start up her own TAMS Government wildlife group as well as what the above paragraph states, for taking legal action against TAMS, and so that they can continue to tell lies about the Kangaroos and keep on unlawfully killing them.
The ACT Government, TAMS, and the RSPCA have abused more taxpayers money to allow Marg Peachey to start up another wildlife group, when they already had my established group that saves taxpayers money since we are all volunteers.  I have long term expertise and knowledge of over 30 years in wildlife. I had to stop Marg Peachey from removing protected native Brush-tail Possums and protected native Currawongs from the Wildlife Rehabilitation Licence while she was the RSPCA Wildlife Manager, purely because she hated them.  I had to seize back a magpie that needed surgery from Marg Peachey while she was the RSPCA Wildlife Manager because all Marg wanted to do was to kill it .
230415 Section 7 of Wildlife Rehab Licence Sick diseased or injured animals must receive appropriate treatment...003
The taxpayers and voters have spoken in my 3 petitions and have demanded that Marg Peachey has her Wildlife Rehabilitation Licence revoked/cancelled.  This 20/4/2015 report/news has been added to all 3 petitions as confirmation on our demands. Marg Peachey’s TAMS Government wildlife group will have to be deregistered to prevent unlawful and unnecessary killing and extinction of wildlife.

'Sarah' EGK in doco
On 7/7/13 I was prevented from personally helping a Joey, as animal cruelty continued by TAMS and was committed by a TAMS ranger named Grant who went out and saw a Joey in Oxley that was mauled by 2 roaming dogs. He failed to sedate the Joey and immediately provide the Joey with veterinary treatment for the injuries, and shock, and to ensure that the Joey was rehabilitated by a responsible experienced person, such as myself, prior to release. Instead, he told a resident that if the Joey didn’t hop away by 8/7/13 that he would kill it. This is completely unacceptable and unlawful.
230415 Section 7 of Wildlife Rehab Licence Sick diseased or injured animals must receive appropriate treatment...003
According to the caller, the dogs dragged the Joey across the road, and was therefore injured and suffering myopathy (shock).
The callers phoned me being dissatisfied with the TAMS Ranger Grant’s non action, and asked me to help them to help the Joey. I phoned a rescuer and asked him to sedate the Joey, rescue it, and to immediately get it to have medical treatment and rehabilitation. The ranger then phoned me and left me a threatening message demanding that I phone him back, that he had already attended the site where the Joey was, and that I was to stay away and leave the Joey where it was, to suffer. I refused to phone Grant back.

TAMS and CSIRO were fighting over an endangered Major Mitchell Cockatoo that was someone’s pet that had escaped. THEIR FIGHT WAS OVER who was going to torture this poor bird to death by draining the blood out of it while it was still alive and conscious, after TAMS seized it from a wildlife carer who was happy to keep the bird as his pet if the owner didn’t come forward. THIS WILDLIFE CARER IS NOW DECEASED. TAMS violently kill everything. No wildlife can be given to TAMS OR THE RSPCA. THE PUBLIC DO NOT HAND IN WILDLIFE SO THAT TAMS AND THE RSPCA CAN TORTURE THEM TO DEATH OR FEED THEM TO SNAKES, RAPTORS AND OTHER CARNIVOROUS ANIMALS.

ANIMAL CRUELTY WARNINGS IGNORED BY MICHAEL LINKE. DROWNING IN THE SLURRY IS NOT ACCEPTABLE EITHER AND IS ALSO COMMITTING ACTS OF ANIMAL CRUELTY:
Under my conditions of my licence K8464 No.4, it stated that the animals shall not be sold….., however, the RSPCA is selling the animals, adopting out animals is the same as selling them, the RSPCA are making a profit from wildlife, including mine that they stole from me, and what they couldn’t sell, adopt out and profit from, the RSPCA killed. The RSPCA have contravened other conditions of their licence as well as in failing to provide veterinary treatment and care, including surgery when needed, who instead kill.
230415 Section 7 of Wildlife Rehab Licence Sick diseased or injured animals must receive appropriate treatment...003
Condition 28 of the licence K8464 is requesting that: “The Wildlife Foundation shall maintain and submit to the Conservator of Flora and Fauna: 1) A current list of names and addresses of members of the Foundation and 2) Records of all animals received by the Foundation by June 30 each year. These records shall contain: 1. Date and where animal found 2. Name and address of person delivering animal 3. Species and sex of animal/s 4. Date animal received 5.Treatment provided and 6. Date of animal’s release, or name and address of person animal delivered to and date delivered.”
This means that my licence should still be valid and extended/a continuance which can be done under special conditions and backdated to 2008/2009.
Wildlife Carers Group Wildlife Rehabilitation Licence K8464 conditions 27 and 28

Wildlife Carers Group Wildlife Rehabilitation Licence K8464 conditions 27 and 28

Since TAMS were requesting condition 28 information from another group when they falsely gave condition 28 of the licence as not being complied by, and as their reason for not issuing a renewal, even though I still complied with that condition, and since condition 28 is not referring to Wildlife Carers Group, then the licence K8464 still has to be valid if they want to continue to falsely deny that they received everything as requested.
I was advised by the court to ignore condition 28, however TAMS have been using condition 28 not to renew my licence, to defame me to my carers, vets, etc, which they cannot do.
The only condition I contravened on the licence K8464 was in condition No.28 by giving TAMS a list of vets and carers names, records, etc when condition 28 was asking the Wildlife Foundation to give them their list of vets and carers names, records etc. All of TAMS evidence shows that I was bullied and threatened by TAMS in giving them that information in contravention to condition 28 of my licence which I gave under duress and is therefore inadmissible in court.

I repeatedly advised the licensing officers that they have also erred in the licence by naming the Wildlife Foundation which they repeatedly ignored, as they repeatedly ignore everything else. Therefore, as I have repeatedly stated, this is all departmental error by a dysfunctional department. Neither myself nor the animals can be allowed to suffer the consequences, or hold me and the animals responsible for TAMS repeated errors and contravention to the Act, the Animal Welfare Act and the Code of Practice etc. any further.
I believe that I have suffered enough intimidation, torment, bullying (upto $600,000 fine), humiliation, degradation, defamation, vicious harassment and violated by these departments and the RSPCA over false allegations, etc for over a long period of time that dates back to 2004 when I first applied for the Wildlife Rehabilitation Licence.

Public apology over the defamatory letters sent to all my carers, vets in 2008 and to anyone else these and other defamatory letters were sent out to referring to me and Wildlife Carers Group.  One defamatory lie was that I did not  comply with section 28, the other lie was that I hadn’t yet responded  to their renewal licence which they had NOT sent out to me.  I had to chase after them to get the renewal licence sent out to me;
Public apology over defamation leading to and on10/8/12, and thereafter for the unlawful trespassing and theft of wildlife and my wildlife food etc, taken against me;
Public apology on 11/8/12 defamatory article in the Canberra Times;
A HUGE COMPENSATION PAYOUT TO ME.

Note condition 27 doesn’t allow full term rehabilitation for Eastern Grey Kangaroos (EGK), showing the ACT Government’s hatred for the EGK’s, the only state with this policy.  The Canberra Chronicle – TAMS Ranger Brett McNamara Our Bush Capital – article Restoring Balance ‘An intricate web of life’, p12, 21/4/15, is an intricate web of lies. The ACT Government’s Kangaroo killing is driven by hatred and lies, and NOT by Science. Science tells the ACT Government to leave the Kangaroos alone because without the soft footed macropods and their gentle grazing to stimulate native vegetation growth along with their natural fertilisation through their faeces, the vegetation will die. The ACT Government is driving the Eastern Grey Kangaroos to extinction with their over killing, lies and mismanagement. The strong large males and strong healthy females are targeted destroying their strong healthy gene pools, weakening the species. On top of the 31+ killing permits, predators, the ACT Government is also sterilising the Kangaroos to completely wipe them right out and to speed up the process of driving them to extinction. The ACT Government’s lies about the Kangaroos is encouraging violence who are committing fraud with their false reports. The Kangaroos are not over grazing and there is such a small population left. The kangaroos are not of an abundance. The ACT Government hand out approx. 30 permits a year to land holders to kill the Kangaroos, along with their own annual unlawful killing that would add up to approx. 31 killing permits of protected native wildlife a year. Kangaroos and other macropods predators are dogs, raptors, foxes, snakes, humans, road kills, development/construction, fences, loss of habitat that are keeping the population well below the required population to provide a healthy well balanced eco system. The ACT Government is destroying the habitat and driving the Eastern Grey Kangaroos, other macropods, reptiles, insects and other wildlife to extinction through poisoning – baits and sprays, unlawful killing throughout the year, construction of roads and buildings, driving quad bikes, heavy machinery, and trucks throughout reserves, digging up the reserves for trenches etc. who are destroying the Bush Capital. After each ACT Government killing, they then spread poisonous baits throughout all the reserves to finish off the last remaining Kangaroos and other native wildlife. The ACT Government is driving our Kangaroos and other native wildlife flora and fauna to extinction. Updated from top to bottom with more relevant photos to show the extent of the ACT Government’s and the RSPCA’s violence and lies. The ACT Government are weakening the species by targeting the large males and strong healthy females that hold the strong gene pools.

It is common along the eastern seaboard, from northern Queensland to South Australia and Tasmania, with a local population in Perth (Western Australia), initiated from aviary releases, that is now found in the ACT as well due to habitat loss. Its habitat is rainforest, coastal bush and woodland areas.  Both sexes look alike, with a blue (mauve) head and belly, green wings, tail and back, and an orange/yellow breast. The Rainbow Lorikeet mostly forages on the flowers of shrubs or trees to harvest nectar and pollen, but also eats fruits, seeds and some insects. The eggs of the Rainbow Lorikeet are laid on chewed, decayed wood, usually in a hollow limb of a eucalypt tree. Both sexes prepare the nest cavity and feed the young, but only the female incubates the eggs.

GREYHOUND RACING CRUELTY UPDATE: Racing Queensland has banned six Greyhound trainers for life and suspended 27 trainers from the industry over live-baiting and 14 people have been arrested on 53 charges, including 37 of serious animal cruelty. The inquiry’s report is due before June. Inquiry has been expanded. https://au.news.yahoo.com/…/qld-greyhound-inquiry-given-wi…/ After all of my correspondence to the Ministers demanding  the ban of Greyhound racing,  https://wildlifecarersgroup.wordpress.com/2015/02/24/wildlife-carers-group-news-wildlife-carers-group-goes-to-africa-warningprotein-from-china-used-in-animal-and-baby-formula-ban-greyhound-racing-25215/, here are Questions and Answers in the Legislative Assembly for the ACT on Greyhound racing-live baiting on 18-19 March 2015: ‘MR SMYTH: My question is to the Minister for Racing and Gaming, Minister, on 17 February you described the reports on live baiting in the greyhound racing industry as “truly shocking” and said that you had ordered the commission to investigate the matter further, Minister, have you ordered the commission to investigate this matter?  If yes, when? If no, when will you order this investigation, and will you table the terms of reference? MS BURCH: I have had discussions with the commissioner about this.  It is my understanding that he has spoken with the greyhound club or some of his officials have visited the site.  One of the key questions I had was: do any of the trainers or owners that were recognised in that Four Corners report have connections here? It is my understanding one trainer was identified in that report that raced here two or three years ago. This is something the commission will have an eye to over time.  I am happy to bring advice, as this is something the public has a strong interest in.  I know many members in this Assembly have had a  lot of correspondence damning the practice, which was absolutely disgraceful.  I have confidence that the greyhound industry here abides by all the integrity that the code of conduct of the industry requires. MADAM SPEAKER: A supplementary question, Mr Smyth. MR SMYTH: Minister, when you directed the Gambling and Racing Commission to make inquiries as to whether interstate trainers who use live baiting had operated in the ACT, what were the outcomes? Will you be issuing a report from the review that is being conducted? MS BURCH: I think I indicated in my first answer that there was one trainer identified that was here once.  But I will get an update, and I am quite happy to bring back, probably tomorrow, at the end of question time, some information about where that is up to.  Will I be issuing a report on it?  I had not planned to, but I think a statement in the Assembly tomorrow, following question time, with an update, would suffice. MADAM SPEAKER: A supplementary question, Mr Doszpot. MR DOSZPOT: MINISTER, HAVE YOU WRITTEN TO YOUR INTERSTATE COUNTERPARTS TO PRIORITISE THE ISSUES OF ANIMAL ABUSE IN THE GREYHUND RACING INDUSTRY IN YOUR NEXT MEETING WITH THEM? WHEN DID YOU DO THIS? WHAT WAS THE RESPONSE? MS BURCH: Yes, I have written. Tomorrow, when I bring the advice, I am quite happy to table a copy of that letter.  The meeting was actually scheduled for sometime in May.  Advice has come through to my office today that has been deferred.  So unfortunately, I will not have a chance to have a face-to-face discussion with my colleagues on that because the meeting has been bumped to no fixed date in the future. MADAM SPEAKER: A supplementary question, Mr Doszpot. MS BURCH: I am confident, and the advice to me is, that there is no baiting-absolutely no baiting-here in the ACT. But, as I have said, I am quite happy to come back with an updated bit of advice tomorrow.’ Cont’d – March 19: ‘MS BURCH: Yesterday, in regard to greyhounds there were a number of questions from those opposite.  While the ACT Gambling and Racing Commission is responsible for the regulation of gambling activities, the Canberra Greyhound Racing Club, under the auspices of Greyhounds Australasia, is responsible for the conduct of greyhound racing and the registration of owners and training. In December 2013 the government signed an MOU with the Canberra Greyhound Racing Club so that we can maintain strong integrity in relation to the code of conduct and the discharge of their duties.  The commission has been working with the Canberra Greyhound Racing Club to ascertain whether any identified or banned owners or trainers from other jurisdictions have attended race meetings held by the club.  It has also initiated inspections of the venue and attended race meetings and training sessions to monitor that. The commission has ascertained that one trainer currently under investigation in New South Wales previously raced in the ACT, back in 2013, and that person is currently suspended in New South Wales, pending an investigation.  Earlier in March this year the commission then received further advice that one suspended Victorian trainer had raced in the ACT.  The Greyhound Racing Club have advised that that trainer had attended cup meetings but there is a watch on that future activity. Racing Queensland announced that an additional 23 trainers have been suspended, and the Canberra Racing Club are looking to see if there is any connection back here to Canberra, but nothing as yet.  The commission is continuing to liaise with the Greyhound Racing Club, and no complaints have been received by the commission in relation to live baiting in the territory. There was a question over letters.  I am quite happy to table the letters that I have written to my counterparts in regard to greyhound racing.  I present the following paper: Greyhound Racing Industry Standards-ABC’s Four Corners program- Correspondence to State and Territory Ministers for Racing, dated 2 March 2015.’

TRAGIC DEATH OF BERANI SUMATRAN TIGER AT NATIONAL ZOO AND AQUARIUM 1st photo 27/1/2015- taken by Nora Preston, 2nd photo 26/1/2014 – me feeding the Tiger – We enjoyed visiting Berani at the National Zoo and Aquarium (NZ&A) and will certainly miss the presence of this beautiful Tiger in the future. Heartbreaking news of the death of Berani, died on Monday 20/4/15.  NZ&A are still waiting for the autopsy to find out the cause of death after he suffered for a couple of weeks. SUMATRAN TIGER (Panthera tigris sumatrae) is the smallest and a rare tiger subspecies that inhabits the Indonesian island of Sumatra. It was classified as critically endangered by IUCN in 2008 as the population was estimated at 441 to 679. The actual population maybe as low as 400 that are left in the wild with a dwindling population. https://wildlifecarersgroup.wordpress.com/…/wildlife…/ http://www.canberratimes.com.au/…/the-national-zoo-mourns-t…

BAN THE TRAWLERS IN AUSTRALIA I’ve been posting on Greg Hunt’s and Tony Abbott’s Facebook and Twitter pages for them to STOP THE TRAWLERS AND TURN THEM BACK – BAN ALL TRAWLERS, after the Geelong Star arrived and docked at Albany port in WA.  However, they did not listen to me or to hundreds of thousands of other people, and allowed the super trawler to fish that has now killed 4 dolphins and 2 seals on his first day of fishing at Tasmania and Victorian waters.  It is not acceptable to allow these trawlers into Australian waters.  They are destructive and violent in their methods of catch and drive our native marine and fresh water life to extinction: https://www.facebook.com/stopthetrawler/photos/a.256369554551712.1073741831.252738184914849/374863562702310/?type=1&theater. 4 dolphins and 2 seals have died in the first two weeks of the Geelong Star factory trawler operating in Australian waters. This was predictable, but it is not acceptable. SHARE THIS and TELL Prime Minister Turnbull (update with new Prime Minister in September 2015) to #StopThisBoatTone: Phone 02 9977 6411 or message Malcolm.turnbull.mp@aph.gov.au The 95-metre industrial factory trawler the Dirk-Dirk (in Australia, now reflagged as the Geelong Star) has killed four dolphins and two seals on its first fishing trip in Australian waters. Completely unacceptable, no marine life should lose their lives. Trawlers over fish and drive marine life to extinction that will have repercussions on the environment. Turn the trawlers around and send them back from where they came from. You can help us make the necessary changes for our native protected Eastern Grey Kangaroos, by signing this petition, and circulating this for us http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/saveallthe-kangaroos.html . In this article, interviewed on 15/4/10 that has now been removed, http://www.nowuc.com.au/2010/05/27/kangaroo-plan…/comment-page-1/  don fletcher from tams says thatkangaroos are not the main problem and in fact‘native grasses’ are not threatened with extinction, but other animals and plants are, and that “the biggest ‘contributor’ to the loss of the natural treeless grasslands of our region has been agriculture (by far)”. This statement is admitting to the flawed, dishonest kangaroo management plan, and russell watkinson’s media release, on Friday 18/6/10, that blames the kangaroos for driving legless lizards, earless dragons, etc, and the deteriorating grasslands and woodlands to extinction, by eating all the grasses, when fletcher admits that the native grasses are not threatened by the kangaroos, but by human activity, including toxic sprays. Please check out this link http://www.canberratimes.com.au/news/local/news/general/roo-best-custodian-for-some-plants/1652005.aspx , that was in the Canberra times on 17/10/09, that completely refutes the allegations against the roos destroying grasslands, that was sent to maxine cooper, that were also ignored. The report is by Julie Lindner, who has also been studying the grasslands and the roos for the past 20 years, which backs up what I’ve been saying all along. http://www.canberratimes.com.au/news/local/news/general/roo-best-custodian-for-some-plants/1652005.aspx, with a more recent article in the Chronicle in the ‘letters to the editor’ section, titled ‘culling controversy’ p.23, 14/6/11. Please click on this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUZrKj6ClBg  ‘KANGAROO CHILLER BOX INVESTIGATION’/’KANGAROOS ON TRACK TO EXTINCTION’, that contains the cruel bashing to death of roos that are shot, but not directly killed, hung up while still alive, and left suffering, trembling as they hang, tortured to death, and joeys bashed to death, possibly attempting to decapitate the joeys head on the back of the truck with several blows. Please click on this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbn3c8EcNRk&feature=related , so called controlled government butchering, you will note that the kangaroos are still alive when hung up, suffering, AND BEING TORTURED TO DEATH, the male is laughing at the cruelty he has just inflicted on this kangaroo, a joey stomped to death, even the child stomps on it as he walks past following his father, orphaned joeys hopping around, left to starve to death, a joey bashed till its eyes popped out, but is still alive, suffering, a prolonged death, and the male admitting that these are protected species. Native protected animals called pests, the very same native animals that maintain a healthy well balanced eco system. The code of practice that the shooter refers to is inhumane, and unacceptable, as witnessed in this video footage. Kangaroos are not fit for human or dog consumption, heavily contaminated with various diseases/harmful bacterias, e.coli, salmonella, staphylococcus, streptococcus, toxoplasmosis, preserved illegally with sulphur dioxide that causes thiamine deficiency, (a white crystalline solid forming part of the vitamin B complex, C12H17CIN4OS; a vitamin (B1), required by the nervous system, absence of which causes beri-beri and other disorders), causing death, intake of pesticide spraying to control locusts, etc. Keep watching till it stops, keep an eye on the timer, next to the speaker symbol, length 10:59. We can see their marine life up and down the Qld coast, however, the only unique sighting that Fraser Island can boast about, and can offer to the tourists, is the pure breed native Dingoes, once the last 90 odd Dingoes, population estimation as of 28-29 August 2011, (since the mismanaged Fraser Island fire by the Qld government, this Dingo population has more than likely dropped dramatically), that are left on the Island are driven to extinction, through arrogance, mismanagement and mistreatment, Fraser Island will have nothing left to offer to the huge tourist trade it currently holds, which will end Fraser Island tourism. This species maintains a healthy well balanced eco system.

WILDLIFE CARERS GROUP NEWS – KANGAROOS; HIT AND RUN TORTOISE 1/4/13

WILDLIFE CARERS GROUP NEWS – KANGAROOS; HIT AND RUN TORTOISE 1/4/13

We hope that you have a had a Happy Easter break.

Click on Facebook, http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1649024860&v=info
and Twitter
http://twitter.com/wildlifecarersg/ to read some of our updates. Unfortunately not all of our hard work gets published on Facebook and Twitter either with the huge volume of work that we do.

Wildlife Carers Group phone has been ringing off the hook as usual with possibly some calls being lost. If we haven’t returned your call you either forgot to leave your number, left the wrong number, we couldn’t decipher your message, or through congestion your call somehow got lost.

Please speak clearly and loudly into the microphone on your phone, tell us the reason why you are calling, leave your name and contact number, repeat your contact number twice. We don’t have time to return calls to callers who fail to give us the reason for their call. The call must be wildlife and animal welfare related.

KANGAROOS COUNT WITH ONGOING FALSE ALLEGATIONS

I have checked out the Friends of Mount Painter (FOMP) website where they blame the large number of Kangaroos for destruction of plants due to grazing.

An article in the Canberra Times (CT) on Friday 22 March 2013, ‘News’ Section p.7 with the subject heading ‘Majura roos in sights of cullers’ written by John Thistleton and Larissa Nicholson who interviewed Friends of Mount Majura (FOMM) also falsely accuse the Kangaroos of destroying seedlings that they have planted in fenced off areas and falsely state that there are a large number of roos.

Daniel Iglesias in the same article from TAMS tries to state that FOMM observation is science.

This type of research has already been undertaken, with one section being fenced off with no Kangaroos. The vegetation in this section died off because there were no Kangaroos in the fenced off section due to no grazing, stimulating the vegetation to regrow.

Another section was fenced off with Kangaroos. The vegetation in this section thrived due to the grazing of the Kangaroos, stimulating the vegetation regrowth.

This clearly shows that FOMM have their story back the front in the above CT article.

Kangaroos and the grazing of the Kangaroos is extremely important as the Kangaroos only skim off the highest, tough growth of plants, exposing tender shoots, stimulating vegetation regrowth.

While the Friends of Mount Painter have counted the Kangaroos in 2013 with volunteers for TAMS, their count is overly excessive as usual. They more than likely saw 4 Kangaroos and added 2 zeros to the end of the figure as it was reported to me that they counted 400 Kangaroos on Mount Painter. I haven’t been able to find anything on their website to confirm that FOMP counted 400 Kangaroos.

Animal Liberation has also been calling on volunteers to count the Kangaroos using a more scientific method and counted just 80 Eastern Grey Kangaroos on Mount Painter.

With the over killing going on of our Eastern Grey Kangaroos, not only by the government, but by property owners, and then vehicle strikes, natural predators that also includes humans who haven’t been issued with a permit, etc, our Eastern Grey Kangaroos (macropods) will be driven to extinction, and that will also have a devastating effect on our vegetation.

Killing is violent and unlawful. All macropods are native. All native wildlife are protected under the wildlife protection laws.

It is unlawful to kill native wildlife.

Macropods maintain a healthy well balanced eco system.

HIT AND RUN LONG-NECKED TORTOISE

Wildlife Carers Group received a call on the pictured Long-necked Tortoise below. This tortoise was hit by a car with the driver then driving off and leaving it there to die. The finder wanted to use some sort of machinery on it which I promptly disallowed and asked him to drop it off to me.   I also advised him that any treatment needed for the tortoise will be treated humanely by the vet.  Tortoise shells are made up of bones, nerves, spinal chord etc, they can feel everything through the shell.  Avoid scrubbing their shells using harsh brushes.  Only use a very soft cloth with warm water, and very gently wipe the shell lightly in a circular motion.

We have received worse cases of injuries due to vehicle strikes.

Tortoises and other reptiles are on the move to go into hibernation. Please drive carefully and give way to our native wildlife. Our native wildlife are dependent on you to slow down and to watch out for them.

Photos: NORA PRESTON

Vet examining the tortoise. Underside (ventral surface) of the shell (known as the plastron) showing dirt and a minor plastron wound. The tortoise shell is a highly complicated shield for the ventral and dorsal parts of the tortoise, completely enclosing all the vital organs of the tortoise including the head that the tortoise can pull in. It is constructed of modified bony elements such as the ribs, parts of the pelvis and other bones found in most reptiles. The bone of the shell consists of both skeletal and the dermal bone, showing that the complete enclosure of the shell probably evolved by including dermal armor into the rib cage. On the plastron there are 2 gular scutes at the front, followed by a pair of pectorals, then abdominals, femorals and lastly anals.

The top of the tortoise shell (known as the carapace) shows signs of an abnormal growth and green algae on the shell

The vet cleaned up the tortoise using a soft cloth and water.

The tip of the sides of the shell is abnormally curled up.

The membrane can be seen under the neck of the tortoise where the tortoise was injected on both sides with antibiotics and a vitamin B complex.

The vet had to pry out the head of the tortoise to examine the tortoise further. This tortoise is anaemic and thin.

The vet then had to pry open the mouth of the tortoise using a toothpick.

The vet then injected the tortoise on one side of the membrane with Enrofloxacin.

On the other side of the membrane the tortoise was injected with a Vitamin B complex.

Tortoise is orally treated with Panacur using a syringe without a needle in it.

WISHING YOU A VERY SAFE AND HAPPY YEAR FOR 2013.

In this article, interviewed on 15/4/10, http://www.nowuc.com.au/2010/05/27/kangaroo-plan%E2%80%A6/comment-page-1/(this page may now be closed to leave space for UC new students interviews)
don fletcher from tams says that kangaroos are not the main problemand in fact ‘native grasses’ are not threatened with extinction, but other animals and plants are, and that “the biggest’contributor’ to the loss of the natural treeless grasslands of our region has been agriculture (by far)”.

Please check out this link: http://www.canberratimes.com.au/news/local/news/general/roo-best-custodian-for-some-plants/1652005.aspx
that was in the Canberra times on 17/10/09, that completely refutes the allegations against the roos destroying grasslands, that was sent to maxine cooper, that were also ignored.

The report is by Julie Lindner, who has also been studying the grasslands and the roos for the past 20 years, which backs up what I’ve been saying all along.

http://www.canberratimes.com.au/news/local/news/general/roo-best-custodian-for-some-plants/1652005.aspx, with a more recent article in the Chronicle in the’letters to the editor’section titled ‘culling controversy’ p.23, 14/6/11.

Please click on this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUZrKj6ClBg

‘KANGAROO CHILLER BOX INVESTIGATION’/’KANGAROOS ON TRACK TO EXTINCTION’,that contains the cruel bashing to death of roos that are shot, but not directly killed, hung up while still alive, and left suffering, trembling as they hang, tortured to death, and joeys bashed to death, possibly attempting to decapitate the joeys head on the back of the truck with several blows.

Please click on this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbn3c8EcNRk&feature=related

SEE the so called controlled government butchering, you will note that the kangaroos are still alive when hung up, suffering, AND BEING TORTURED TO DEATH, the male is laughing at the cruelty he has just inflicted on this kangaroo, a joey stomped to death, even the child stomps on it as he walks past following his father, orphaned joeys hopping around, left to starve to death, a joey bashed till its eyes popped out, but is still alive, suffering, a prolonged death, and the male admitting that these are protected species. Native protected animals called pests, the very same native animals that maintain a healthy well balanced eco system. The code of practice that the shooter refers to is inhumane, and unacceptable, as witnessed in this video footage. Kangaroos are not fit for human or dog consumption, heavily contaminated with various diseases/harmful bacterias, e.coli, salmonella, staphylococcus, streptococcus, toxoplasmosis, preserved illegally with sulphur dioxide that causes thiamine deficiency, (a white crystalline solid forming part of the vitamin B complex, C12H17CIN4OS; a vitamin (B1), required by the nervous system, absence of which causes beri-beri and other disorders),causing death, intake of pesticide spraying to control locusts, etc. Keep watching till it stops, keep an eye on the timer, next to the speaker symbol, length 10:59.

There are more links on youtube to show the facts on the extreme cruelty committed to our native protected macropods.

MARCH FLIES – OLD DOGS

April last year I wrote an article on how to care for your old dogs from the April flies biting their ears, nose, body.

The first pictured bird is a nestling Chough, note the red eyes around the pupil.

Choughs are in the same family as the Currawongs.

The second pictured bird is a Currawong, note the yellow eyes that can still be seen from the distance.

Don’t be misled by inappropriate reports made against our native Currawongs by people who are not educated in our native wildlife.

Currawongs do not behave any differently to Magpies, Raptors, Kingfishers etc.  All of these birds catch baby and small birds to feed them to their young and to feed themselves with.

Currawongs are very important to assist in eradicating introduced pests.

In this article, interviewed on 15/4/10, http://www.nowuc.com.au/2010/05/27/kangaroo-plan%E2%80%A6/comment-page-1/(this page may now be closed to leave space for UC new students interviews)
don fletcher from tams says that kangaroos are not the main problem and in fact ‘native grasses’ are not threatened with extinction, but other animals and plants are, and that “the biggest ‘contributor’ to the loss of the natural treeless grasslands of our region has been agriculture (by far)”.

There are more links on youtube to show the facts on the extreme cruelty committed to our native protected macropods.

who are starving them to death, mismanaging them, mistreating them, will prevent driving these spectacular native wildlife species to extinction, and help end acts of animal cruelty. Changing the Qld government legislation and constitution, to humanely conserve this species, and their habitat. Erecting GIVE WAY to DINGOES/WILDLIFE Signs. This species maintains a healthy well balanced ecosystem.

WILDLIFE CARERS GROUP NEWS; GALAH; AVOID BIOLAC; SNAKES; MOLONGLO; NEW TAMS MINISTER + more 17/3/13

to read some of our updates.

AVOID BIOLAC FOR REARING MACROPODS, POSSUMS – SOFT FURRED WILDLIFE.

Photos: NORA PRESTON

Biolac has inappropriately been widely recommended to rear Macropods.

Unfortunately carers have found that the Eastern Grey Kangaroo Joeys have developed cataracts in both their eyes using Biolac.

Taronga Zoo has also found that Biolac is not suitable to rear Macropods or any other soft furred wildlife and recommend that Biolac only be used for Wombats or the stronger furred wildlife with similar texture fur as the wombat.  Personally, I would avoid using Biolac altogether.

I would therefore highly recommend that you avoid the use of Biolac for possums as well.

I have successfully continued to rear wildlife using Di-Vetelact that is simple to use. The only Wombaroo products I use is Granivore and Insectivore mix for birds. Carers that use Wombaroo powder for Macropods, Possums etc have been successful in rearing them.

Eastern Grey Kangaroo Joey reared using Biolac has formed cataracts in his eyes. This Joey will be having eye surgery to remove the cataracts.

Eyes should appear clear as this picture shows.

SNAKES 22/1/13

Photos: NORA PRESTON

After moving some stumps around into aviaries, the next day on 22/1/13 I saw an olivish green object in the bottom of the aviary with the same pattern on it as my garden hose. I thought that the last person in the aviary had dropped a thicker garden hose piece into the aviary and was about to bend down to retrieve it and return it to its rightful owner when it moved.

Even the local snakes seek refuge in my aviearies and want to feel safe from harm to live in my aviaries, slithering in and curling up in it to make a home for themselves.

EDENOPTERON KEITHCROOKI – 360 MILLION YEAR OLD NEW SPECIES OF FISH DISCOVERED

Photo: NORA PRESTON

Dr Gavin Young of ANU and 3 other researchers found the remains of this species in Eden in 2008. I snapped this photo of Gavin holding this specimen in June 2012. They worked hard to put the pieces together over a period of 5 years. In 2008 they found a fang that was 4 centimetres in length from an estimated 3 metre long fish while searching for remains of a toothless armoured fish in rocks near Eden. The researchers are waiting to hear back on whether or not they have been successful in their application for a permit/funding to continue their excavation in Eden to find the rest of the remains of this fish.  I’m sure that all the readers would agree that granting this permit would be of great historical educational value for science and the public.

“POSSUM TOASTS AUSTRALIA DAY in cheeky visit” by John Thistleton CANBERRA TIMES (CT) ARTICLE 29/1/13 NEWS P.3

Photos: NORA PRESTON

While I encourage assisting our native wildlife by feeding them, I only encourage to feed them with their natural diet, except for feeding lizards, possums etc to snakes and raptors etc, and as a supplement, fruit, good quality parrot mix etc.

Bread, toasted or otherwise, is definitely not recommended to be fed to any wildlife. Wildlife, and any other animals and birds cannot digest bread that will give them diarrhoea and slowly kill them.

I will investigate what the pest controllers who TAMS employ to catch the possums and remove them from the roof do with them, as commented by Daniel Iglesias in this same CT article.

The possums cannot just be removed from the roof and released. Possums are highly territorial and will kill or seriously injure one another fighting for their territory. A possum box must be installed close by to give the possum a new home. Please click on this link for more information: https://wildlifecarersgroup.wordpress.com/2013/02/13/canberra-times-sundayfocus-article-on-nora-preston-canberracity-of-animal-lovers-15712-2/.

ELEPHANTS – DID YOU KNOW?

We have been busy assisting in saving Elephants as well, both in the wild and in captivity.

  1. Usually in mammals tusks are enlarged canine teeth, but in elephants they are actually elongated incisors made of ivory and are essentially no different from other teeth. Ref: eleaid.com and Britannica.com
  2. Elephants usually have 26 teeth: the incisors, known as the tusks, 12 deciduous premolars, and 12 molars.
  3. These animals have several distinctive features, including a long proboscis or trunk used for many purposes, particularly for grasping objects. Their incisors grow into tusks, which serve as tools for moving objects and digging, and as weapons for fighting.

Elephants are large mammals of the family Elephantidae and the order Proboscidea. Traditionally, two species are recognised, the African elephant (Loxodonta africana) and the Asian elephant (Elephas maximus), although some evidence suggests that African bush elephants and African forest elephants are separate species (L. africana and L. cyclotis respectively). Elephants are scattered throughout sub-Saharan Africa, and South and Southeast Asia. They are the only surviving proboscideans; extinct species include mammoths and mastodons. The largest living terrestrial animals, male African elephants can reach a height of 4 m (13 ft) and weigh 7,000 kg (15,000 lb).

Elephants are herbivorous and can be found in different habitats including savannahs, forests, deserts and marshes. They prefer to stay near water. They are considered to be keystone species due to their impact on their environments. Other animals tend to keep their distance, and predators such as lions, tigers, hyenas and wild dogs usually target only the young elephants (or “calves”). Females (or “cows”) tend to live in family groups, which can consist of one female with her calves or several related females with offspring. The latter are led by the oldest cow, known as the matriarch. Elephants have a fission-fusion society in which multiple family groups come together to socialise. Males (or “bulls”) leave their family groups when they reach puberty, and may live alone or with other males. Adult bulls mostly interact with family groups when looking for a mate and enter a state of increased testosterone and aggression known as musth, which helps them gain dominance and reproductive success. Calves are the centre of attention in their family groups and rely on their mothers for as long as three years. Elephants can live up to 70 years in the wild. They communicate by touch, sight, and sound; elephants use infrasound, and seismic communication over long distances. Elephant intelligence has been compared with that of primates and cetaceans. They appear to have self-awareness and show empathy for dying or dead individuals of their kind.

African elephants are listed as vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), while the Asian elephant is classed as endangered. One of the biggest threats to elephant populations is the ivory trade, as the animals are poached for their ivory tusks. Other threats to wild elephants include habitat destruction and conflicts with local people. Elephants are used as working animals in Asia. In the past they were used in war; today, they are often put on display in zoos and circuses. Elephants are highly recognisable and have been featured in art, folklore, religion, literature and popular culture. Ref: Wikipedia

MOLONGLO RIVER PARK/COOMBS RIVERSIDE DESIGN final PSP PRESENTATION 20/2/13

    Photos: NORA PRESTON

I attended the Molonglo River Park/Coombs Riverside design workshop on 20/2/13 reminding everyone that they were in breach of the EPBC Act 1999/NES plan.  Please click on this link to view WCG Submission on the EPBC Act 1999/NES Plan:  https://wildlifecarersgroup.wordpress.com/2012/09/26/wildlife-carers-group-submission-for-molonglo-and-north-weston-developments/.  I spoke with Shane Rattenbury TAMS minister later that day at a separate Conservation Council meeting reminding him of the Wildlife Carers Group submission on this matter that was handed to him at a Council meeting prior to the elections in 2012, and requested a response and confirmation that these developments have been scrapped. I further sent a follow up email on 25/2/13 to Shane Rattenbury requesting his response and confirmation that the Molonglo and North Weston developments have been permanently stopped. I have not yet received an acknowledgement or response to the email.

CONSERVATION COUNCIL COMMUNITY FORUM, GUEST SPEAKER SHANE RATTENBURY NEW ACT MINISTER FOR TERRITORY AND MUNICIPAL SERVICES (TAMS) 20/2/13

I attended the Conservation Council community forum on 20/2/13 and spoke with Shane Rattenbury on the matter of the Cypress trees being removed in the old Weston CIT site without any consultation and requested an explanation. I further sent a follow up email on 25/2/13 requesting an explanation to which I have not received an acknowledgement or response to.

I also raised the unlawful entry and theft of my wildlife on 10/8/12 https://wildlifecarersgroup.wordpress.com/2012/09/28/wildlife-carers-group-news-work-experience-student-rspca-cruelty-more-live-export-animal-cruelty-28912/ and again demanded a public apology and the return of my wildlife alive and asked him where they were. I also reminded him of the small part of the damages bill that I have already sent and asked for that immediate payment and that I was defamed publicly with vicious lies not once but twice by TAMS, also in 2007/2008 in the attempt to destroy my reputation, and expect compensation for damages, defamation, vicious harassment, unlawful entry and theft. I have been demanding that all staff involved in the unlawful entry and theft of my wildlife be permanently banned and terminated from their jobs for abusing their jobs and taxpayers money to run a smear campaign against me. I sent a follow up email on 25/2/13 requesting the same to which I have not received an acknowledgement or response to.

I discussed the Kangaroos and to end the violent unlawful killing, to amend the Acts and Policies that govern the unlawful violent killing according to Wildlife Carers Group submissions, and to amend our licence, etc. I sent a follow up email on 25/2/13 requesting the same to which I have not received an acknowledgement or response to.

I have been busy taking legal action, typing up submissions, including for judicial improvements, strengthening the Human Rights Act that expired in January 2013, attending meetings, and emailing letters to assist in ending violent kangaroo killings in other states, to prevent the kangaroo commercial industry from starting up in other states, saving our marinelife and their habitat, to assist to stop the coal seam gas, which we have had some success in, with the Environment Minister Tony Burke introducing legislation in parliament on 13/3/13, including strict federal conditions on the coal seam gas proposals on their impact on our water tables. The list goes on of all of the rest of my hard work on other matters as well, some of which that may be seen on Facebook and Twitter.

Canberra: city of animal lovers

Date     July 15, 2012

A small number of Canberra’s animal enthusiasts take their passion to the next level. PHILLIP THOMSON talks to one of them

Nora Preston of the Wildlife Carers Group, at the Callum Brae Nature Reserve, with a rescued female possum. Photo: Graham Tidy

SELF-DESCRIBED protector of animals Nora Preston sends out a media release.

It is about a dog she alleges is being mistreated. It sits on the owner’s verandah and she has taken photos of it and sent them to her mailing list.

”The dog still has not been seized and is still out there in the freezing day and night with no kennel,” she writes.

So I ask her how much trouble she has been in, doing this sort of community activism.

”They abuse you,” she says matter-of-factly, but does not want to say too much more about it.

She only adds: ”When I do that, I’m not on my own. We try to calm them down and just explain to them what they need to do to avoid legal action. Sometimes it takes months.”

Canberra has its fair share of animal lovers.

A small number of them take their animal enthusiasm to the next level, campaigning in the media and sometimes trying as hard as they can to remain anonymous as they break the law.

Outrage often spills into the letters page when there is a kangaroo cull.

Parkwood Farm, which produces eggs in Canberra’s north, was raided by a group of animal rights activists who destroyed equipment in March.

The farm will now switch from battery hen farming to producing cage-free eggs.

However, Preston says she does not endorse law breaking, such as trespass. It would only hurt her ability to get things done the right way, she says, through lobbying.

She does not approve of the damaging of private property. She is more of a supporter of the media campaign, despite the dirty looks she might get from pet owners.

She has no qualms about stepping in and calling the authorities on short notice.

When she saw a man displaying cockatoo wings on the dashboard of his car, she called the police.

”I could just imagine him ripping [the wings] off a live cockatoo,” she says (although there is no proof the man did this).

She also stepped in when she saw a cockatoo being ”stomped on” at Queanbeyan in April. ”That cockatoo is still being rehabilitated, it’s been on antibiotics.”

The bird is now with one of the 20 volunteers in her Wildlife Carers Group.

Preston, the owner of two cats and one dog, started bird watching in the 1970s. After joining the local Wildlife Foundation in the 1980s, she later founded her own organisation, which she says is funded from her own pocket and receives up to 10 calls a day regarding animal welfare matters.

The group doesn’t give names to animals it rescues, although Preston is not against the practice.

The focus is on healing the animals’ wounds until they are released rather than handling them. ”We don’t want to turn them into pets,” she says.

Each year Preston says her organisation receives dozens of calls about snakes in backyards, echidnas on the road and possums in the roof.

A person must be patient to remove a possum from a house.

”They are very territorial,” she says. A possum box must be added to the roof, so the possum can mark it with its smells. When this is done, the box can be put in a nearby tree and the entry into the roof blocked.

Occasionally when her volunteers are called out to possum jobs, the noises in the roof turn out to be rats and mice.

”We don’t deal with those,” she says. ”People have to call the pest controllers.”

If echidnas are picked up from the road they should be placed off the bitumen in the direction they are travelling in. Otherwise, they may become disoriented from where their young, known as puggles, are located.

So how much animal cruelty, whether deliberate or through ignorance, exists in the ACT?

Figures show that the territory’s RSPCA animal welfare inspectors responded to 1100 complaints in the past year. Further action only needed to be taken in less than three per cent of those cases, according to the RSPCA chief executive Michael Linke.

In the past year, six animals in the ACT have been so neglected they have been seized immediately.

Some of the worst cases end up in court.

Two recent cases involved people who allegedly injured their own cats. Inspectors seized the cats and both cases are progressing through the court system.

In another case, inspectors seized an emaciated dog they believed was in imminent risk.

”A case involving a horse also involved failure to provide adequate food to a point of starvation and the horse was seized,” Linke says.

One matter currently before the juvenile court involves a 16-year-old boy who allegedly killed and tortured a number of dogs.

Clearly Preston believes her Wildlife Carers Group has an important part to play in tending to the animals that the RSPCA and other organisations do not get to.

And she believes people and humans are crossing paths more regularly as housing developments continue across the ACT.

This is perhaps most obvious in the ACT government’s kangaroo culls. Preston is passionately opposed to any kangaroo culls, questioning the ACT government’s statement that the shooting is done by experienced marksmen.

Up to 2015 eastern grey kangaroos were killed in the latest cull in May and June.

A survey of 600 Canberrans by Territory and Municipal Services, found 79 per cent were supportive of kangaroo culling under some circumstances and 70 per cent were supportive of culling for conservation of small grassland and woodland animals.

An online poll by The Canberra Times in May found 41 per cent of those polled supported culling.

Ask Preston and she undoubtedly believes most people are against the culls. And she will use all her powers to stop the deaths.

RSPCA ANIMAL CRUELTY FAILURE TO SEIZE DOG 19/8/12-22/12/12

RSPCA ANIMAL CRUELTY FAILURE TO SEIZE DOG 19/8/12-22/12/12

Dog offenders such as this one form organised crime together, who unlawfully collude, unlawfully stalk, set up crashes, set up obstructions, unlawfully assault you, attempt to commit homicide, commit homicide when assaulting pregnant women who lose their baby, attempt to run you down in their trucks, etc unlawfully trespass onto your property and steal your dogs if you have any dogs, try to drown your cats in their sump oil, if you have any cats, cause thousands of dollars worth of property damage to your property, defame with vicious lies, vicious harassment, continue to intimidate, harass and threaten, verbal abuse using offensive language, death threats, etc as we place the animals welfare first.

This long term dog offender has been a dog offender for over 30 years with each dog he has ever owned, committing acts of animal cruelty to each dog he has ever owned.

Wildlife have disappeared from my backyard from inside their aviaries, a blue tongue lizard severed etc.  Animal cruelty does not stop with their own dogs.

Wildlife Carers Group has contacted both the rspca and das (domestic animal services – dog pound) to seize the  kelpie dog in Kambah, and requested that they work together to seize the dog.

The rspca came out and saw the dog, and agreed with Wildlife Carers Group that the dog was underweight, saw that the dog was inhumanely kept on the back of the truck, uncontrolled, allowed to roam, parked dangerously on the road, and yet still refused to seize the dog that is shown in the photo below dated 21/5/12. The dog did not remain on the back of the truck.

The owner went away and left the dog there, which is why the rspca could not speak with him, and yet all they did was leave a note on his door, and leave the dog there so that he can continue to commit acts of animal cruelty.

The dog from Kambah was inhumanely kept on the back of the truck, uncontrolled, allowed to roam, parked dangerously on the road, and yet the rspca and das still refused to seize the dog that is shown in the photo dated 21/5/12.

DAS was also requested to come out and seize the dog, but refused to.

As you are all aware, the ongoing reports of animal cruelty and the uncontrolled dog went ignored, and as the email dated 13 August 2012, below for your information showed, the male reoffending dog offender was allowed to register a 2nd dog to abuse and to use as a harassing dog, cause an animal nuisance, with double the trouble using and abusing 2 dogs in the photo below dated 13/8/12.

Photo taken of now 2 dogs with this well known reoffending dog offender allowed to get a 2nd dog to abuse with his original dog, photo taken 13/8/12.

The Photo dated 21/4/12, shows the roaming dog defecating on private/public land, other photos that can be seen below were sent that were clearer so that DAS could identify the dog, when the owner went away for 3 days, kicked the dog out into the street and left the dog to fend for itself.

This photo taken 21/4/12 shows that the dog does not stay in the truck or on the front porch, or in the front yard and that the dog does eventually wonder around and defecates and urinates on private and public land as shown in this photo with the dog defecating on private property.

The dog from this property was also reported last year for animal cruelty left on the back of the truck in a 30 degree heat with no food and water. Please click on this link and go to “Dog Cruelty in the ACT” article: https://wildlifecarersgroup.wordpress.com/2011/11/27/wildlife-carers-group-commended-tweed-heads-magpie-saved-animal-welfare-wildlife-carers-group-donation-certificate-sponsorship-for-radio-ad-to-expose-pig-factory-farming-special-childrens-x/.

More recent ongoing animal cruelty by this male dog offender on this link, scroll down to ‘Ongoing Animal Cruelty by the rspca’: https://wildlifecarersgroup.wordpress.com/2012/12/21/wildlife-carers-group-visit-to-antarctica-melbourne-aquarium-competition-ongoing-animal-cruelty-by-rspcamore-211212/

While the rspca abuse your taxpayers money from their government funding and your donations to them to falsely defame people like myself, harass us, and seize properly cared for wildlife in my care, that we protect from the rspca and the government, and their government department TAMS, who try to shut down groups like myself who genuinely protect wildlife and domestic animals, both wildlife and domestic animals suffer in the hands of the rspca, who refuse to seize dog cruelty cases such as this one, but will seize properly cared for wildlife from people like me, the violent unlawful killing will never stop, the unlawfull killing by the rspca will never stop, and animals and wildlife will never be given the chance to their right to live.

This reoffending dog offender is well known to the rspca as committing acts of animal cruelty when he owned Great Danes, and other pig hunting dogs used to hunt pigs to torture the pigs to death and some of his dogs were also tortured to death by the pigs while he stood there taking photos of these violent acts of animal cruelty.  For the dogs that got badly inujured, he sewed up himself without the use of anaesthetic, using non sterile needles and unsuitable cotton, causing serious infections in the dogs that caused a prolonged suffering death to the dogs, refusing to take them to the vet.

Animals have to be given to suitable homes for FREE to prevent unlawful killing of healthy animals. The everyday unnecessary killing of animals and wildlife is animal cruelty.

If the rspca cannot make money out of the animal, they will face a death sentence under the rspca.

Not only do the rspca know absolutely nothing about wildlife, they know absolutely nothing about domestic animals, or understand them and their rights to their space, to know when to back off and leave them alone.

If you want to help save animals and help save and protect our protected wildlife, boycott the rspca.

Your money, your free advertising for them, will only be abused and used to falsely slander the names, such as mine, who provide proper care and treatment to wildlife, who respond to animal cruelty complaints, with no government funding, who dip into our pockets to end animal cruelty, and to enforce the wildlife protection laws.

We are running another petition to stop the unlawful violent killing of the Eastern Grey Kangaroos, please sign as individuals, and circulate, post onto your websites, etc:

In this article, interviewed on 15/4/10, http://www.nowuc.com.au/2010/05/27/kangaroo-plan%E2%80%A6/comment-page-1/(this page may now be closed to leave space for UC new students interviews)
don fletcher from tams says that kangaroos are not the main problem and in fact ‘native grasses’ are not threatened with extinction, but other animals and plants are, and that “the biggest ‘contributor’ to the loss of the natural treeless grasslands of our region has been agriculture (by far)”.

This species maintains a healthy well balanced ecosystem.

WILDLIFE CARERS GROUP VISIT TO ANTARCTICA & MELBOURNE AQUARIUM; COMPETITION; ONGOING ANIMAL CRUELTY BY RSPCA+MORE 21/12/12

PRESIDENT’S REPORT

WISHING YOU A VERY MERRY XMAS AND A SAFE AND HAPPY NEW YEAR FOR 2013.

We have had a very full on 2012.

Our Wildlife mobile phone has been ringing off the hook all year with the phone getting quite congested.

Any calls we haven’t returned is because either the caller failed to leave a phone number, failed to leave a clear message and phone number and we could not decipher any of it, or because of the badly congested line, the calls did not get through, so we apologise for any calls that were not returned.

Please ensure that you speak loudly and clearly straight into the phone’s microphone and state the reason for why you are calling, leave your name and repeat your phone number twice.

If you only leave a name and number, we will consider that the call is not for sick, orphaned or injured wildlife or wildlife related matters.

We have been busy attending meetings, writing submissions, assisting with campaigns and are running 3 of our own campaigns, conducting inspections, training work experience students, lobbying, meeting deadlines, writing for a wildlife rescue magazine, answering calls, wildlife rescue, wildlife rehabilitation, releasing wildlife, taking legal action, court phone conferences, preparing for legal action, etc.  https://wildlifecarersgroup.wordpress.com/2012/09/28/wildlife-carers-group-news-work-experience-student-rspca-cruelty-more-live-export-animal-cruelty-28912/;

Can you also take a moment to sign and share these 3 petitions BELOW with others by signing as individuals and circulating the petitions please? It’s really easy – all you need to do is forward this email, and share this link on Facebook and Twitter, and your own websites, with your friends, family and colleagues:

http://www.communityrun.org/petitions/stop-the-unlawful-violent-killing-of-protected-native-kangaroos

We have reached our goal of 2000 signatures and have received more signatures so we have extended the signatures goal to 3000. To view the petition online please click on this link and keep circulating it for us as well: http://www.change.org/petitions/chief-minister-environment-minister-greens-party-prime-minister-stop-the-unlawful-violent-killing-of-protected-native-kangaroos, along with this petition: www.gopetition.com/petitions/saveallthe-kangaroos.html

Animal Cruelty has been high.

Wildlife Carers Group is currently investigating this young Galah that was brought to us on 18/12/12 picked up in Duffy, and is currently having a synthetic beak placed over the badly bitten or sliced off beak that also has part of its tongue missing. We are not sure if this injury is as a result of an insane person trying to shut this young Galah up when begging for food. If anyone has any information on what happened to this Galah, please email wildlife_carers_group@yahoo.com.au

This Galah has also been treated with enrofloxacin antibiotics injections.   We have ruled out a vehicle strike as causing this injury.

Wildlife Carers Group took legal action against The Conservator of Flora and Fauna and filed an Application to Stay/Application For Interim Or Other Orders-General and an Application for Review of Decision at ACAT, to stop the Kangaroo killing on the nature reserves and surrounding areas on the date that the cull commenced on 22/5/12, since we only got 1 day’s notice that the unlawful killing was to commence, animal welfare/acts of animal cruelty, and to amend the Acts and Policies governing all the killing of Kangaroos and other native wildlife and the native wildlife rehabilitation rehabilitation.

The Stay was heard on 23/5/12, which failed.

I continued to argue to enforce the stay by sending ACAT daily updates of current visual photographic evidence from the 2012 killing to show that the Kangaroos were being violently tortured to death, unlawfully herded using quad bikes by the government and their employed shooters that the taxpayers were paying for.  ACAT would not budge.

This dragged on until the hearing that was set down for 27 June 2012 when we requested an adjournment since the Conservator of Flora and Fauna deliberately withheld evidence in an attachment of her Decision.  ACAT refused to grant our adjournment and refused to order the Conservator of Flora and Fauna to send the missing attachment of her Decision.

ACAT  breached the Animal Welfare Act and the Code of Practice by failing to grant the stay, and allowed this government to continue to breach the Animal Welfare Act and the Code of Practice in the process.  Someone has to be held accountable for all of these serious breaches and also lose their taxpayer waged jobs.

We are attempting to have court/tribunal rules changed so that courts/tribunals will be held accountable for their incorrect decisions.  These courts/tribunals are paid with taxpayers money, and no one wants to see animals tortured to death, especially when the matter is already before the court/tribunal, or victims/innocent people viciously harassed and defamed and/or prosecuted and treated as criminals, and ordered to pay criminals to allow them to reoffend.

The government is also in breach of the Animal Welfare Act and the Code of Practice and will also be held accountable for their ongoing non action to stop the Kangaroo slaughters and to prevent them from being driven to extinction unless they immediately announce that the kangaroo killing is stopped by the government and other parties who kill protected native kangaroos and other protected native wildlife.

On 27 June 2012 we were forced to withdraw our application for Review of Decision because of the missing evidence in the Decision.

This leaves this matter open and can still be challenged by us or someone else who we will be happy to work closely with to ensure that our Kangaroos and all other native wildlife see Justice and their Rights to live under the Wildlife Protection Laws.

The police were constantly contacted by us as well to stop the Kangaroo killing by sending them the same visual photographic evidence that we sent to the court on a daily basis, but it appears that the police failed in their duty to immediately stop animal cruelty.

We received conflicting stories, that the killing was stopped on the Friday prior to the advertised date of reopening the nature reserves.

So we possibly had some effect with the court action and our constant contact with all of the police sections within the police departments.

Then on 10 August 2012, I was personally attacked not only by TAMS, but ALSO by the police and the rspca, with my private property unlawfully trespassed on and my wildlife stolen by these bodies, with not one of them placing innocent vulnerable protected native wildlife welfare first, all because I personally took the conservator of flora and fauna to court.

My repeated warnings to them that they were trespassing and that this was private property and to get off my property was ignored.  I stepped infront of the rspca and again ordered everyone off my property, and shut the aviary door to the 4 Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, where they started to torture the Cockatoos, blood everywhere, when a large flock of Sulphur Crested Cockatoos also tried to come to our rescue and came flying in screaming and swooping down at the rspca, tams and the police.

A police officer stepped infront of my face and threatened to arrest me and charge me on my own private property, who was unlawfully trespassing.

https://wildlifecarersgroup.wordpress.com/2012/09/28/wildlife-carers-group-news-work-experience-student-rspca-cruelty-more-live-export-animal-cruelty-28912/

Just as our Kangaroos suffer under this government and are tortured to death, so did my wildlife that were safe on my property from TAMS and the rspca unlawful death sentence or from being sold.

https://wildlifecarersgroup.wordpress.com/2012/06/07/protected-native-violent-kangaroo-killing-in-the-act-7-june-2012/

The Chronicle has given the rspca a full page of advertising to adopt a pet , and don’t be deceived by their wording, in plain English it means the rspca are selling them that includes 2 Rainbow Lorikeets. Who were these birds stolen from? Where is the xmas present for these animals, to be given to good suitable loving and caring homes for FREE to ensure that none of the rspca animals are killed unnecessarily?!

Advertising for the rspca is not helping any animals, until the rspca advertises that all the animals are FREE to  good homes to prevent killing them. That is the Merry Xmas all year round that all animals deserve at the rspca, FREE to good homes.

Taxpayers money was used and abused to run a smear campaign against me by the government, government depts/police and tams, and the rspca, just as the government ran a smear campaign against the protestors/activists who were gathering the evidence on the unlawful violent killing of the kangaroos on the nature reserves in May/June 2012, by accusing them of cutting the fence where the Eastern Bettongs were.

At no time were the Eastern Bettongs in danger.  The fence surrounding the Eastern Bettongs was never cut, the government were careful to cut another fence that was right away from the Eastern Bettongs.  The activists did not cut the fence; the government did so that they could turn the public against the activists who did an excellent job in gathering animal cruelty evidence and exposing the government’s unlawful violent herding and killing of the Kangaroos in 2012. The vet verified that the kangaroos were indeed tortured to death, that is in breach of the Animal Welfare Act, Code of Practice etc, after one of the kangaroos were autopsied.

My name was slandered with vicious defamatory lies in the Canberra Times, with the intent to destroy my reputation, we can put any price on a defamation law suit, with the Canberra Times refusing to print my response, and other letters written in my defence, this is also discrimination and in breach of my Human Rights, I was personally viciously harassed that is a $350,000 fine and 7 years in prison, my property damaged that I have been constantly writing to the chief/tams minister to pay up for, and to pay me a huge compensation payout without the government abusing any further taxpayers money on, giving her the opportunity to negotiate with me alone.

I have already sent 1 bill for damages to the chief/tams minister that has been constantly ignored.  I have also demanded a PUBLIC APOLOGY from all of these bodies.

After all of this, the public who care and who know me still know where to come to save our protected native wildlife and we continue to receive massive complaints against the rspca killing everything.

While we haven’t been sending out regular emails to everyone, we have been very busy and have continued to fight for animal welfare and to end animal cruelty, and to save wildlife habitat that can be seen on these links: on Facebook, http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1649024860&v=info,
Twitter
http://twitter.com/wildlifecarersg/
.

Wildlife Carers Group has as usual financially supported the Mix 106.3 Special Children’s Xmas Wish Party in conjunction with FNI(A)-Film Networking Industry (Australia), given a vet an annual fat cheque as usual, and financially supported advertising for ‘the stop the trawler’ campaign, and of course paid other vet fees as well, etc.

With all the photos already attached, I won’t include any further photos of donations that we have made.

Hit and Run is still a problem.

Please slow down and give way to our very vulnerable wildlife. With the ongoing loss of their habitat, please understand that they have no road sense, but you do. Thank you.

This poor Long-necked Tortoise was found lying upside down on the road on 14/12/12 and handed into Wildlife Carers Group, showing a fracture on the tortoise’s plastron.

Taken to  the vet and treated with enrofloxacin 0.2ml antibiotics injection and the fracture taped with half inch micropore tape.

COMPETITION

For the first 10 winners to win a free Wildlife Carers Group Membership please identify these birds.

This nestling was brought to Wildlife Carers Group, identified as the birds below having a feed.

Both these birds are from the same family group as the nestling above.

ELECTRIC CAR

In order to help save our environment, I had an electric car for a month. I can’t say that I can recommend it. When we had to be at certain places at a certain time, the electric car ran out of charge, so we had to switch cars and take the petrol car. It takes hours to charge the car up, hours that we don’t have, so to be safe, I had to drive my petrol car knowing that it is full of petrol, it only takes 5 minutes to fill it up, and it will get me wherever I have to go without the worry that the charge will run out and I will be left stranded in the middle of nowhere.

ANTARTICA VISIT – MELBOURNE AQUARIUM

We visited Antartica to see their King and Gentoo Penguins in the Melbourne Aquarium on 22/11/12.

Unfortunately the King and Gentoo Penguins are kept in the same enclosure that may be having an impact on the King Penguins breeding, unless they are all females, and their survival in the enclosure. All the King Penguins eggs that are laid are not fertile.

King Penguins congregate together in the wild. They don’t normally mix with other Penguins, so this could be a stress factor for them.

The Melbourne Aquarium suffers a high mortality rate of the King Penguins as well.

The Gentoo Penguins are breeding quite well, so obviously being held captive together with the King Penguins is not stressful for them.

Emails between the Melbourne Aquarium and Wildlife Carers Group from 29/11/12-12/12/12. Note that they ignore the problems that they have to resolve, rather than addressing them, the respondent is in complete denial that there is a problem with their high mortality rate of the King Penguins in their enclosure and the fact they are not breeding, since they have more readily accessible King Penguins to quickly replace their high mortality rate:

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your response.

I didn’t write that we did not enjoy your Sub-Antartica Penguin experience, if you would like to re-read what I wrote.

I did however express concerns for the King Penguins.

The penguin facility meets all Australian and international standards

The RSPCA Victoria have visited the penguin facility on three occasions upon our request and were more than satisfied with the standard of the facility and the husbandry provided.

Penguin specialists from the Australian Antarctic Division have visited on several occasions and endorsed the facility.

I’m aware that you are having a success breeding rate with the Gentoo Penguins, my only concern was with your failure to breed with the King Penguins and that you have to keep replacing the high death rate with new King Penguins.

As mentioned in my last email we have had NO king deaths at Melbourne Aquarium.

The King Penguins have not bred due to their young age.

Hopefully you will take note of the concerns raised, and rehouse the King Penguins into a separate facility.

King Penguins do not interact with Gentoo Penguins in the wild, even in your enclosure, they attempt to remain separate from the Gentoo Penguins which is quite stressful for them.

The king penguins have currently separating them self as they are using the nest platform provided for courting and breeding. Other times of the year that use all areas of the exhibit as the gentoo’s do.

King and gentoo penguins may not interact with each other however they live in integrated population on Falkland Island, Macquarie Island, South Georgia, Prince Edward, Crozet and Heard island.

Below is a list of just a few facilities that also house king and gentoo penguins together.

Saint Louis Zoo, Saint Louis, Missouri, USA

Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo, Omaha, Nebraska, USA

Central Park Zoo, New York

Sea World, Queensland, Australia

Kelly Tarltons Sea Life Centre, Auckland, New Zealand

Sea World San Diego , USA

Zoological Gardens Wuppertal, Wuppertal, Germany

Newport Aquarium, Newport USA

Edinburgh Zoo, Edinburgh, Scotland

SeaWorld Antonio, USA

Sea World Orlando, USA

Let me know if your King egg is fertile or successfully raised.

You can keep up to date by visiting either our website or our facebook page.

I would love to receive stages through photos from you of this King egg’s stages, hatching etc if it is fertile.

You can keep up to date by visiting either our website or our facebook page.

The other consideration is the dye that you use to colour the food which may not be adaptable for the King Penguins diet, and may be toxic for them.

We do not put any die in the king penguins food.

Looking forward to your response.

If you would like further clarification regarding my response please let me know and I can put in contact with our Veterinarian Dr Robert Jones.

Subject: RE: Our recent visit to Melbourne Aquarium Antartica Penguins

Good afternoon Nora,

Thank you for your email. I am sorry you did not enjoy your Sub-Antarctic Penguin experience at Melbourne Aquarium.

Unfortunately the information that you received upon your visit to the Aquarium is incorrect. In the four years that we have displayed penguins at Melbourne Aquarium we have had no adult deaths and had a very successful gentoo breeding program in place with chicks the past three years. Kings take several years longer then gentoos to reach sexual maturity. Therefore, last years’ egg was infertile due to the young age of the birds. We are very excited to currently have one king egg, laid last week. When you visited it was very early in the king breeding season, which, unlike the gentoos that all breed at the same time, have a very long breeding season. They had begun courting and finding a mate. We are very lucky to have an egg this early in the breeding season.

Pip (king penguin) has a feeding issue from birth and therefore needs the food to be put into her mouth to a certain depth before she eats it. She indicates to keepers when she is hungry and then she is fed. At present several of the other kings are focused on the present breeding season, this means that they will often protect their partner so intently that they lose their interest in other things. For this reason we spend more time with the kings ensuring that they get the nutrition they need to keep healthy.

Sub- Antarctic penguins shake for several reasons, 1 to cool down, 2 to warm up, 3 to assist in digestion or 4 they may be unwell, if they are unwell they show other signs first though and they would have received medical assistance before they got to the stage of shaking. We have staff trained in vet nursing and keepers that have a wide range of varied experience, from breeding endangered birds, years of zoo keeping a wide range of birds, mammals, reptile and fish, and years of animal conditioning plus extensive study at both the under and post graduate level. We also have a Vet with 30+ years experience visit 3 time as week and is always on call.

King and gentoo penguins live side by side both in the wild, in numbers exceeding tens of thousands, and Zoo’s and Aquarium’s all around the world.

Kind regards

“Good afternoon,

Subject: Our recent visit to Melbourne Aquarium Antartica Penguins

Last week we visited the Antartica King and Gentoo Penguins enclosure and learnt that your King Penguins are not breeding, laying infertile eggs, and that you have a high death rate.

These could be as a result of a couple of things:

1. Either all the King Penguins are females; or

2. It is a very stressful environment for them being held captive together with the Gentoo Penguins, and your staff who feed them etc are not trained to understand animal behaviour on when to leave the penguins alone, or when they may need medical assistance.

Before we actually went in to the Antartica section to be inside with the penguins, we noticed that a female handler with glasses, was pushing and forcing the King Penguins to feed, when some of the Penguins quite obviously just wanted to be left alone.

She repeatedly tried to force feed a couple of them, failing to read their body language that they wanted to be left alone.

One of the King Penguins was trembling quite badly as well that clearly needed some medical attention, or was in fear of the handlers/staff.

It may be worthwhile for you to construct another Antartica area solely for the King Penguins and see if that helps breeding and stops your high death rate.

Thank you for your Antartica experience.

Looking forward to your response.

King Penguins to your left and Gentoo Penguins to your bottom right

Note that even the photo shows that the King Penguins attempt to alienate themselves from the Gentoo Penguins and do not intermix.

We were taken into a highly quarantined area and had to put their warm black outfits on, including heavy duty black boots, and I mean ‘heavy’. Our feet felt like lead in them they were that heavy.

We were given a guided tour throughout the quarantined area, shown the freezers, where all the food is stored, how the food is mixed and coloured using a colour dye to make the food more appealing for the Penguins, an empty King Penguin egg, equipment, etc and finally the best saved for last, into the quarantined enclosure to meet the King and Gentoo Penguins face to face. We were on display with the Penguins.

Seeing the King Penguins face to face showed how absolutely beautifully and brilliantly coloured they are that you simply can’t see through the glassed enclosure.  They are breathtaking.

There were animal welfare issues in the Octopus enclosure where a number of large Octopus’s was squeezed into a tiny glassed in area.

ONGOING RSPCA CRUELTY

This ongoing dog report of animal cruelty and uncontrolled dog allowed to roam continues from Kambah because the rspca refused to do their job and seize the dog when they had the opportunity to. https://wildlifecarersgroup.wordpress.com/2012/12/22/rspca-animal-cruelty-failure-to-seize-dog-19812-221212/

28/11/12 dog from Kambah in truck yue 022 entangled in chains on the back of his truck all day parked illegally.

12/12/12 at approx 2.24pm showing a photo of uncontrolled dog ALLOWED TO ROAM from Kambah, with the dog having a chain attached to it, but the other end of the chain is not attached to anything so that when the dog roams it will be dragging a very long chain after it that is more acts of animal cruelty.

6/12/12 the black dog from 15 Drysdale Cct Kambah was on the road outside 13 Drysdale Cct Kambah. By the time I took the photo, the dog had moved behind the permanent offending dog owner’s truck yes 67c that is also permanently unlawfully parked on the nature stripA part of the rear of the dog can be seen behind the truck.

20/12/12 at approx 1.11am showing a dark photo of uncontrolled dog that is allowed to roam, the light from the eye can be seen, showing more acts of animal cruelty, failing to properly house the dog and keep the dog safe from predators that is kept in an open front yard, residing at Kambah, kicked out into the street every day causing a public nuisance, a harassing dog and a disturbance.

Dog cruelty reported on 14/11/11 from the same resident, scroll down to DOG CRUELTY IN THE ACT: https://wildlifecarersgroup.wordpress.com/2011/11/

The uncontrolled and roaming dogs are causing a lot of damage to private property killing off the lawns as they urinate all over them on a daily basis, along with other damages.

Animal cruelty extends to dog owners who fail to keep their dogs under control by keeping them on a leash, or the dog offenders who kick their dogs out into the neighbourhood to roam, who fail to place top priority on their pets safety, who clearly don’t care if their dogs get run down, they don’t care if their dogs attack someone, or if they attack, injure or kill another persons pet, or wildlife, or if their own dogs get attacked or killed.

All uncontrolled dogs are unpredictable, and are a danger to people, other animals, wildlife and to themselves.

It only takes a split second for a dog to attack a person, another animal, wildlife.

You can help us make the necessary changes for our native protected Eastern Grey

Kangaroos, by signing this petition, and circulating this for us http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/save-all-the-kangaroos.htmlpetition.com/petitions/saveallthe-kangaroos.html .

Please check out this link: http://www.canberratimes.com.au/news/local/news/general/roo-best-custodian-for-some-plants/1652005.aspx
that was in the Canberra times on 17/10/09, that completely refutes the allegations against the roos destroying grasslands, that was sent to maxine cooper, that were also ignored.

The report is by Julie Lindner, who has also been studying the grasslands and the roos for the past 20 years, which backs up what I’ve been saying all along.

http://www.canberratimes.com.au/news/local/news/general/roo-best-custodian-for-some-plants/1652005.aspx , with a more recent article in the Chronicle in the’letters to the editor’ section titled ‘culling controversy’ p.23, 14/6/11.

Possum Abattoir– Lenah Game Meats, Tasmania —EngageMedia

These animals are still alive and awake, when going through the abattoir’s chute processing system, dropped on top of one another, through a swinging door, to go through to the next phase, with several possums piled on top of one another, into the same boxes, when delivered to the abattoir, (possums are extremely territorial,) females with joeys, butchered, and bashed to death. Please Help stop these extreme acts of animal cruelty and export.

You can help stop these extreme acts of animal cruelty to these possums by adding the above link to the possum abattoir and lodging your submissions by 23/4/10, to wta@environment.gov.au

Dingoes

Terminating the rangers from their jobs, who are responsible for the inhumane treatment of dingoes on Fraser Island , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSSaknF6Wnw&feature=youtu.be
who are starving them to death, mismanaging them, mistreating them, will prevent driving these spectacular native wildlife species to extinction, and help end acts of animal cruelty. Changing the Qld government legislation and constitution, to humanely conserve this species, and their habitat. Erecting GIVE WAY to DINGOES/WILDLIFE Signs. This species maintains a healthy well balanced ecosystem.
